Pros

-Unique products and programs you can't find anywhere else -Large percentage of staff will be eligible for retirement in 5-10 years so I imagine there will be a lot of opportunities in that window. -Fast promotion and pay increases during first 5-10 years out of college.

Cons

-Slow to change/innovate because of older culture and size -Some groups have 30+ people badged to a single manager -Very difficult to get promoted once you reach a certain point -Limited opportunities to -How much you enjoy your job and how you are promoted can be very impacted by whether or not you have a good manager. I have seen and had both good and bad managers and my career and job satisfaction have been a function of how good or bad the person in charge is.

Pros

Flex 40 work hours are nice, but benefits aren't great. Salary is ok, but not super competitive. If you're competent and stick around, you can shine, given that you can put up with all the cons.

Cons

Nothing ever changes. Things stay the same on a project for years on end, if not decades. Extremely risk averse, which means any change is considered as being bad.

Pros

Competitive Pay. Willing to work with you when compared to other jobs. Many positions available with many diverse educational requirements

Cons

Due to the government shutdown, those positions are dwindling. Because of this squeeze, opportunities to move within the company are freezing up.
