Many good years spent working for Lockheed Martin

Pros

Lockheed Martin does offer competitive benefits and good compensation, and overall has some good management and does reward good performance.

Cons

Lockheed Martin decided to close our operations and moved the work and our jobs to other Lockheed Martin sites, which was not well received nor understood by our customers. There are far too many layers of management.

Pros

The pay is good. At the time I was hired, there was still a defined benefit (pension) plan. No longer available for new hires. Flextime - Seems mgmt is genuinely concerned w/home-work life balance

Cons

Little or no chance of advancement after you hit a certain tier (level 3). Too many mgmt levels between Individual contributors and those that make promotion decsions (first lines don't have much impact on those decsions). Defense Industry - It appears to be lean times ahead. We are doing more with less and it seems (at least in MST) our ranks are shrinking. Too much time and $$ is spent on the PR aspects of "Inclusion, Diversity etc...). Policies are in place to make this a good work environment, but it seems that they advertise to appease the "PC" media and outside interests, when it really is not needed.
