Pros
- 4 day work week, 10hr days, friday off. Option for 9hr days with every other friday off. - hybrid, but could probably persuade to be remote fully? Knew a few major players who did full remote and ppl didnt seem to care - maybe they argued for it idk. Had to be in-person to get equipment and employee card pictures. - pay felt good for what i did. could probably do less if thats your thing, or do more and lead stuff and level up for promotions. - I knew someone who promoted in 1 year out of uni to 100,000 yearly doing code reviews and leading scrum. - I got a systems thinking award with 1k cash bonus for helping initatives outside my team.
Cons
- Planning meetings every 3 months in person but I didnt feel i needed to be in-person. At least it was at the office i was close to. - my project was split into smaller teams, but those teams kept getting mixed around every 3 months. felt isolated and a little confusing. - that same reorg stuff moved my managers around. i didnt know who my manager was, and they didnt ever talk to me. I was having some mental issues and needing a break and they didnt help me figure out a way to do that while staying at the company. partially my fault tho - all the 'training' provided was not very good imo, both ethical and technical. pretty basic. might the same for all companies tho, idk
