Pros

Really fantastic team. Genuine attemp to tailor to meet the demands of new/agile space. Command media is remarkably good and woefully deprioritized - if read, deliberately tailored is a huge asset. Smart people who really care about the mission.

Cons

Deployed high-consequence, low-risk-tolerance leaders into agile, high-risk environments and expected different results, and then got too many opinions vs decision makers taking accountability. Tends to promote toxicity into positions of authority and then doubles down when things go wonky. They have been around enough to know that good leadership is an asset yet good leaders in key roles are few. The ones that exist become frustrated and jaded. Feels micromanagey,

Pros

- Descent coworkers. - WLB - Never went > 40 hrs a week. - Hybrid / Flex schedule.

Cons

I brought a TS clearance with me and the position I was working in required TS/SCI. Well, the particular customer denied the SCI. I had been assured by management that there was plenty of Unclassified work to do if that happened. Turns out, that was not true. I was given less than two weeks to apply on the jobs board, which I never stood a chance with. The company hires so slowly its nowhere near enough time. Never mind that I had a TS and I could have been moved to another program or anything else. I've worked at other defense contractors that have parked me on an IRAD or been able to move me while waiting on clearance shenanigans. Times have clearly changed. Other cons... You get who you get on your "team". Teams don't get to chose their own people. There are some very smart people and others that are useless and/or unmotivated. The health care benefit is really bad. Only high deductible options to chose from. Also, if you get discharged/laid off, they terminate coverage the Friday after your last day. Most other companies at least give you to the end of the month.

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, high growth potential if you’re not afraid to put in the work

Cons

HR will gate you if you are climbing too fast. “Must spend X more years before you’re eligible for the next level.” High level of bureaucracy on major programs of record, hard to move fast and get stuff done.
