Pros

Lockheed Martin offered a very competitive salary structure and medical benefits. No bonus unless executive level. Average 401k. Pension plan eliminated.

Cons

Lockheed has developed a caste system comprised of senior level executives and then staff. Executive levels are remunerated at excessive levels as compared to staff even for terrible performance. Lockheed is in cost cutting mode and is letting go of good employees

Pros

The ability to work around eye watering technology, with a large and diverse portfolio of products and services.

Cons

Latest CEO, Marilyn Hewson, is nothing like her predecessors. Yes, she is bright. Yes, she can work the media (as she always has) to get herself recognized. However, she has never cared about her employees. She has fully selected the path of cutting costs FASTER than the loss of revenue. So at the end of the year the company beats estimates and we all cheer about the stock price. The problem is we are in constant RIFs, with the best talent leaving the company. Investments in R&D are down tremendously. This is a company in deep trouble and on an unsustainable path.

Pros

Flexible schedules and ample amount of vacation and paid time off. Employees are expected to work independently without a lot of oversight. Very diverse working environment. Decent pay and benefits. Hires really good employees.

Cons

Opportunity for advancement is very limited and opportunities to move into other areas of the business are almost non existent. This this type of management philosophy really inhibits innovation. However, I understand that Lockheed is trying to change this culture, but it's going to take a few years longer.
