Pros

I have previously worked for LM a total of 10 years and at 3 different locations. Each time, I liked the people, the work environment, and the company mission. LM does a nice job trying to insure their employees are comfortable and well trained. Depending on your division and position, the hours are flexible. The last division I worked for had 9/80 work weeks. It is like getting a long weekend every other week.

Cons

The downside is you are working in an industry (defense) that is subject to lots of layoffs and uncertainty. During layoff times and plant closings, the mood of employees is sour. Even so, most people still tend to try to do the best they can for they dying position. Pay could be better.

Pros

People are amazing to work with. Ultimate professionals, team works well together, good culture. Managers are overall very competent. 3 weeks of vacation to start, 1 week of sick time. Every other Friday off. Flextime-telecommuting privileges. Promotions come from within almost always.

Cons

LM micro-manages their employees to no end. It goes as far as asking its employees to sign out on a white board when they leave. Pay is horrible, if you start as a level 1 employee, they wont negotiate with you. Promotions are nonexistent until you hit year 3-4. Switching jobs internally is also nearly impossible with poor performance review. Human resources reps are dishonest and misleading. LM has become a stepping stone for me. It looks decent on a resume but cant see anyone working here long term unless you have your MBA.

Pros

Good 401K match, decent salary, good prescription benefit

Cons

difficult to get promoted regardless of how hard you work, older style management, to save money they are opening jobs at lower pay and level after people retire, medical benefit is becoming ridiculously expensive, depending on type of job travel will exhaust you and management doesn't care
