I love my job

Pros

-As a growing company, there is plenty of opportunity for growth. -Great leadership (at least in my department). -The company invests in my skills and role through paid training and membership to a professional organization. While I haven't attended conferences yet, they've been in discussions and I trust that in time LCS will further invest in me and my role. -A beautiful new building and grounds. -A "Donuts with Dave" is hosted annually in which Dave, the CEO, meets with a group of about 20 people and each person is given time to discuss ideas and issues. Dave will answer questions and respond to each person. Over the years, these meetings have produced a lot of change and improvements. -The Wellness and Social Committees make sure to host events that drive interaction and involvement from employees. One of my favorite things is having a different food truck visit every two weeks.

Cons

-It's not an issue for me, but there is not a formal short-term disability benefit (that maternity leave typically falls under). LCS did enact Paid Medical Leave (PML) which recognizes prolonged sickness and FMLA situations. The drawback is that there is a 5-day waiting period in which you much use Paid Time Off (PTO) before you can begin using PML. Further, the accrual rate is 1.24 hours per pay period (4 days annually). This means that you have to work 5 years before you could actually have a 6-week paid paternity leave. This is not an issue for me, but I do think it's a little behind the times.

Thanks for your review, we are happy to have you as a member of the team. We love our "Donuts with Dave" sessions and actually instituted our Paid Medical Leave (PML) time based on feedback from those meetings. Our PML time does have a one week waiting period, just like a majority of short term disability plans. Our employees earn 5 days of PML each year and they roll over from year to year. The thing we love about our PML time is that it pays employees 100% of their pay while on a qualifying leave instead of just a percentage of your pay like many short term disability plans.

Pros

Great people, good benefits and a great new building with all kinds of amenities(game room, fitness center, etc.)

Cons

Sometimes our rapid growth outpaces our ability to get people in the right departments to help handle it, but it is something they are actively improving on.

Bad Communication, Poor Leadership, No Training outside new hire

Pros

The CEO himself is a very nice guy who seems to care about his employees Most of the staff is great. Business Casual Environment Nice New Building

Cons

Certain high level managers feel like they have to approve or be apart of everything, but then are always so busy it is hard to get things approved which causes slowdowns. Some Team Leads are inexperienced and lack basic leadership qualities and the ability to communicate effectively. While steps have been made to improve company wide communication and it is much better. There is still a lack of communication between key departments, from managers and team leads down to staff, etc. Advanced Training is non existent. They have GREAT new hire training and have done an amazing job making this both interesting and useful, however, training on things that are more specialized and require outside sources is nonexistent and not available. This results in many lost hours scraping the internet for anything of use when some problems arise or spending your own time and money to seek out the training needed to do your job.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Since LCS has grown quickly it can be difficult to find qualified and trained employees to fill all roles within the organization. However, we continue to work with all of our managers and team leads to ensure our employees have the best possible experience. We have worked very hard to create a new hire training program that is impactful and engaging to our employees. We also continue to release ongoing and advanced training on a regular basis. While we continue to develop our internal training we also offer external training options for employees through conferences, workshops, educational seminars, and online training options. We are sorry that LCS didn’t end up being your long-term home and we wish you success in achieving your future career goals.
