Pros

Good for someone who seeks stability and decent benefits rather than personal development.

Cons

Prospective employees considering Scientist/Engineer positions at Lonza should be aware that these roles align closely with Analyst/Operator responsibilities. Not ideal for individuals seeking intellectual challenges. The company culture tends to prioritize established procedures and seniority over external expertise and innovation. This can hinder the implementation of new ideas and limit opportunities for advancement based on merit. Management communication can be inconsistent, with a tendency to prioritize short-term reassurance over transparency, contributing to a high employee turnover rate. There is a perceived emphasis on justifying failures rather than fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. Performance appears to be valued more on appearances than on tangible results and impactful contributions.

Pros

There are some great talent but they keep loosing. Benefits are OK but could be better. You get exposed to different situations but every day is a wild card.

Cons

When the site has a 75% retention rate, there's something going on. They know that the Bay Area is a competitive market but they still don't want to pay the salaries people deserve. So people are leaving left and right. And don't get me started about management. Most of the engineering team is being pushed out to leave the company. If they haven't left yet, they're all looking to get out.
