Pros

The pay is decent because of over time. You get to experience places you wouldn't would normally get to see. The crews tend to be friendly

Cons

Pay should be higher for the amount of responsibilities you have as an operator. The camp cars aren't the nicest, but you do get a hotel room sometimes. The management was always the greatest.

Pros

TONS of travel. You'll see many different cities and have opportunities to do a lot of cool stuff. They match 401k contributions by 150% You can definitely move up quick if you try. You can earn a lot of hotel rewards points

Cons

Too much time away from home 6-12 weeks at a time sometimes longer. Job is dirty and labor intensive at times You’ll be exposed to a lot of silica and coal dust at times.
