Pros

Great for those looking to gain experience in human services.

Cons

Wage discrepancies, incompetent leadership, terrible for career advancement, horrible work culture, bias towards various minority groups, doesn't value staff, Union works for company and poor values in action. If zero stars was possible I would have rated the company zero stars.

Pros

It’s nice helping people. Exciting work

Cons

They treat you as an exempt employee. You are required to be on call but they will not pay you for after hours calls. They will fire you quickly if you even ask about your rights. Takes a long time to get your laptop and phone. Onboarding is a disaster. At the manager meetings, they will speak to everyone as if they were children. Totally condescending upper management.

Pros

None? Really, it's just really bad. They're awful to staff and even worse to residents.

Cons

LIHI in Seattle has received criticism from residents and former residents who have had negative experiences. Some of the issues reported include unresponsive staff, lack of support services, and untrained or abusive staff members. There have been instances where deaths in the villages went undiscovered for extended periods, and residents were not offered counseling or support after these incidents. Additionally, residents have reported being evicted without cause or due process, and there is no clear grievance or appeal process in place. Furthermore, there is a high rate of staff turnover, and residents have reported a lack of mental health support and a culture of neglect. These issues have led to a negative perception of LIHI's services and management. If they weren't a non-profit, they wouldn't last. They run off and profit from federal grant money, but don't run any of their housing developments well. There's rampant favoritism, racism, discrimination, for both staff and residents.
