Pros

Good benefits package for both full-time employees and even if you are a part-time employee. Pay is competitive with other similar jobs, if not a little better.

Cons

Employee schedules are horrible! You can be scheduled to close the store and work until 11:00 p.m. and then have to open the store the next morning at 6:00 a.m. You can also be scheduled to work 10 days in a row, and can be scheduled to work until 11:00 p.m. one day, then work at 12:00 p.m. the next day, 10:00 a.m. the next day and then at 6:00 a.m. the next day. You get tired all the time and get sick from having your schedule changed all the time. Managers don't care about their employees. They only care that they don't get any complaints from customers. Managers are always telling their employees that they can hire someone else to do their job. Very little appreciation for the employees, even the ones who work really hard. Managers don't care if employees quit and they will fire you for doing nothing. Managers have their favorite people and those are the only people who get promoted. There are a lot of people who get away with doing hardly any work because they are the manager's pets, while other people have to work really, really hard. Very unfair working environment. It would be a lot better if there was a union. At least with a union, there would be rules that the management would have to follow and the employees would have some protection when the management treated them badly.

Pros

Potential to make decent $$$ with SOS commissions/spiffs. Good benefit package available for full or part time. Keep a low profile & managers leave you alone.

Cons

Many managers lack people skills and are often illiterate. Most employees try to do their best but are overwhelmed by lack of time to complete tasks. Managers are quick to shift priorities & will often create "company policy" that makes no sense. 'Helping customers' often becomes the last thing after all of the hours in the day are consumed with ill conceived projects, sporadic training, covering other employees areas, pointless meetings, etc. Also Lowes return policy is widely abused by customers who know Lowes will take back anything. It is a real morale buster for employees to watch thieves take advantage of the company.

Pros

Benfits are good, hours are OK, possibilities for advancement are good, store locations make it convenient to get to work.

Cons

Management is not fair and equitable in treating employees, discipline and dismissals not handled equitably , preferential treatment and shifts for favored employees and are not based on merit or performance. Supervisors are not trained in people skills for dealing with employees.
