Pros

Very good working culture. Lot of things to learn. Opportunity to develop your personal skills through internal as well as external training. Good business environment. Ethics followed very strictly.

Cons

Sometimes final decisions may disappoint you. Traditional way of thinking may be taken as orthodox concepts that may lead in conflicts. Some questions may remain unanswered.

Pros

Great work-life balance and pace. Great people-plants are not too big and sprawling-you can familiarize yourself with them pretty quickly and make good friends in the process. Many people stay for their entire career. Company has been a "good ol' boys' club" in the past, but they seem to be trying to improve that image and are succeeding last I heard.

Cons

Most managers like to keep you "in your box" unless you are picked to be on a fast track, in that case you will be tried out for greater responsibility (probably only one shot) and if it doesn't work out, be sidelined if you want to stay or a better manager comes along. Some of the work processes are arcane, but they are trying to improve them.

Smaller company, so you become very good at what you do, but may not experience everything that there is to offer in the industry.
