Pros

Company is evolving, which always comes with struggles. But there are great people here, who genuinely care about you. It sucks that Brecksville is closing, but I do appreciate the 2 year notice. We get bonus payouts every year, some years are better than others but that's also business.

Cons

Frustrating to have benefits go up in out of pocket and down in LZ contribution, essentially pay cuts for all employees. Company is showcasing all the wins we have as a company, the business we are winning, the brand new locations we're building, while simultaneously saying we have to change benefits because we're self-insured and it's too expensive. Changed in-office policy to 4 days in office, and remote employees have to come in 2 days a week. Workloads continue to rise while we make up another senior director role who will just tell middle management and their teams to do more with less.

Literally no reason to work here

Pros

With the exception of Senior Leadship, there is (or was) a very nice culture with Lubrizol. There are some nice people still working here and they’re good to work for, but the entire culture has been vetted by current leadership.

Cons

In just a few short months, they have taken healthcare from working spouses, taken away the awards program, demanded that all employees come in office 4 days per week for absolutely no reason, paid out lousy bonuses with no explanation why, taken away 2 paid holidays, and announced that they are closing the Brecksville site. The CEO actually stood in front of a large gathering and shrugged and said “What’s the big deal? It’s one more day to come into the office…” There is absolutely no value for employees here. Pay is not competitive, why you would choose to work here over any other company in Cleveland —soon to be the scourge that is Wickliffe— is a mystery to me. Then they badger you with engagement scores and mandatory discussions while they dismantle their benefit offerings one by one. If you want to get promoted wait until 2 people quit or get fired and they’ll make you do your job plus the other 2 and call it a “promotion”, or more likely, you’ll get nothing and they’ll call it a “stretch assignment”.
