Pros

Benefits are good and end of year bonus

Cons

Always in crisis mode, inconsistent, abusive atmosphere toward male workers, WAY too many meetings, lots of backstabbing, expect you to work Saturdays on a moment's notice

Pros

Most of the workers are hardworking, smart, and talented. Lubrizol is actively working to improve the safety culture. Insurance and 401k are average for chemical plants in the area. Base pay is good, but don't expect as much in bonuses as other companies.

Cons

Below average on work flexibility and time off for the area (salary workers only get 9/80s during non-holiday pay periods, so you are losing ~8 days compared to industry peers.) Work-life balance is not good, managers have actually stated that they don't care how many hours you work. Management has questionable judgement and borders on unethical, is petty, finger points a lot, can't admit mistakes, and is inefficient. Lubrizol is going through a culture change where they preach accountability, but it only applies to workers, not management. You will spend a lot of time here fire-fighting and catering to politics. The company runs lean, and they keep adding large projects while cutting the budget. However, they somehow are able to find the budget to add more managers.

Great business, terrible culture

Pros

Nice campus and flex hours. ERP system/data is really good data despite all the complaining about how difficult the system is.

Cons

Politics, bureaucracy, job silos, status quo or worse is acceptable. Policies that don't make sense are rarely changed because "that is how it has been done in the past". Performance isn't properly rewarded.
