Pros

If you want to work with sharp minds in a close-knit, multi-disciplinary engineering environment, this is the place. Building a high performance pure electric car from the ground up is a rare and extremely challenging opportunity. The mixture of proven veterans with top young engineering talent is an unbeatable combination. The passion for the product is real and contagious.

Cons

Startups are always a roller coaster ride, and the pursuit of building the best possible car can be stressful. The fast paced environment inevitably produces some degree of turnover.

Ugly Regime Change

Pros

Brilliant engineers and smart people -- they will truly push and inspire you. Mostly collaborative environment. Easy to get along with most employees (non-management). Previous management was wonderful: challenging, inspiring, and productive.

Cons

The regime change has made it difficult to continue in this place. Management has tried to dictate who employees are allowed to be friends with, while employees have been accused as spies for the previous regime. Loyalty and politicking seem to take precedence over merit and problem solving, creating power trips among middle management. The old Atieva was much better than this. What a sad turn of events.

Pros

World class engineers on deck with the "change the world" mentality. Tremendous learning experience and exposure to senior engineers. Rapid advancement (as an engineer) possible if you exceed targets/goals. Generally everyone at the company is truly excited by the mission and doesn't mind working seven days a week until the job is done.

Cons

- High turnover, multiple executive staff including CEO that recently resigned. - unclear expectations, highly disorganized - Shortage of engineers (high turn over) - Arrogant, prideful, inflexible and "always right" type of management - Untrustworthy, no principles in Human Resources Department - Poor communicators misleading in Human Resources Department - Unpredictable behavior and management direction. - Multiple micro managers - Negligent in developing employees or helping them get ahead. - Inappropriate or unfair discipline — shows favoritism. - Uses accolades to intimidates or bully others. - Human Resourcs Department has no respect for employees’ privacy or rights. Shares salary information with former/other employees. - Overpaid engineers, underpaid G&A, Legal staff - Gossiping/personal issues brought to place of employment and highly effecting managerial attitudes and issues.
