Pros

-Communication Workers of America fighting for workers to receive a fair median wage, benefit and better work place with much resistance from mgmt. -FCC and PUC regulated... but where are they?

Cons

-Forced to change internal systems to Centurylink's that require 5 times more manual work, losing information in the compilation thus giving false reports for exec mgmt to view. -Exec mgmt raping company financially -CTL's upper mgmt has arrogant attitude. I have heard first hand in meetings 'we took you over' you are dolng it our way, which is reinventing the wheel. -CTL has no regard for it's employee's, only those in the exec branch making $41 million each in 2011. Truly an ole boys club. -Offshore vendors used, Contractors used. They have no vested interest and do a terrible job when dealing with customer's. -They expect one pay to fit all geographic area's. Who can live on minimum wage? Do they not know that $30k annually is considered at poverty?

Pros

it's better than being unemployed

Cons

- Title downgrades/pay freeze/bonus cut - Redneck - Disorganized, bi-polar management - Bullying tactics - Exec staff can't use the restroom without CEO's permission - Religious nonsense forced down your throat - Morale is low - Everyone from Savvis merger is a VP or SVP - top heavy joke - Left-over Qwest managment is another big joke - all the awesome VPs took the money and ran last year - Exec staff appears to be oblivious to how miserable the employees have become - probably more of a case of they just don't care - Getting anything done, is a constant tug of war

Pros

Benefits because of CWA Union (Could change in September 2012 when CenturyLink renegotiates with CWA. Expecting many benefits to disappear. Pension more than likely to be gone as well as paying college tuition regardless of the major or class you take. Health benefits will likely increase in price as well. No working on weekends. Location in the heart of Salt Lake City is nice.

Cons

Hard core sales objectives. Hit 90% every month or your out the door. The strictest attendance policy I've ever seen. 5 tardies within a year and your canned. Also taking a day off doesn't exist unless you have paid time off and also there is availability to take day off. Constant rumors of possible shutdown of Salt Lake location. No clear idea where the company is heading or what the company vision is. As more and more people use cell phones, land line usage continues to drop. This could be the very reason why CenturyLink doesn't make it long term. Long term future is bleak. Management suggests that selling is more important than customer service. Customers are treated the same way the employees are. Employees dodge spending too much time with customers to resolve their problem because of the constant worry of hitting sales objectives.
