Pros

· Great Management. My direct manager is incredible to work with. She cares about both my personal and professional development. I truly believe that she empowers me to do my job and to do it well. All of the other upper level executives are pretty cool as well. · Open Space Office · Events. Good amount of events that allow for me to hang out with other teams. · Pet Friendly. There are designated days where pets can come in. Always nice to see a dog or cat roaming around. · Cool Coworkers · 401k, Health, Dental, and Vision

Cons

Get brought up to speed with tech. It would be great to have a savvy shared drive (Dropbox, Google, Sharepoint), company account for conference calls, and project management software. Zendesk is probably the best tool for customer service requests.

“I want to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Lyon Living has recently formed a Technology Steering Committee. The Steering Committees will be used to gain acceptance from the Lyon team on new IT initiatives. We have already received a proposal to implement an intranet solution. Lyon currently utilizes a service for conference calling, but our new VoIP Broadvoice solution also has this functionality. Manage Engine handles our technical Service Request and this software includes an Asset Management, Project Management, and Change Request module. I encourage you to reach out to our IT Department for additional collaboration.”

Pros

I have been working at one of Lyon Living’s many amazing properties for a year now and I have observed a healthy, fun, and positive work environment and the company’s high standards to continue to improve their associates growth and resident experiences. Lyon Living has provided me and many other associates the opportunity to grow within the company by providing us with continued education and implemented training. I have developed a respect for Lyon Living’s goals and culture of providing and maintaining the best possible experience for everyone. The Property Manager of the community that I work at has done an outstanding job recognizing all associate goals, personal strengths, and achievements. Our team is always provided the necessary tools to enable the teams’ success with tasks and goals. Overall, employees feel valued, residents feel welcomed and taken care of and I can see myself working here for many, many years to come!

Cons

The only con I can think of is the processes involved within the programs in which we use on a daily basis. Although it is very easy to learn how to navigate through the programs, there are situations that could potentially prevent you from moving forward without manager approval which requires you to tell a resident that we will have to finish up any process when a manager is available. Understanding why this process is in place, I still feel that the company should reevaluate which permissions are actually needed and there should be a little more freedom for the associates so we can assist with small discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. We always feel empowered to make decisions that best fit the situation but we are unable to correct it without speaking with a manager first. I have observed that Lyon Living is working hard to implement necessary changes and I am excited for all future progress to making our daily tasks more streamlined and efficient for everyone.

Pros

I consider Lyon Living like an elementary school, a place to get your feet wet to learn the fundamentals of property management. When I first started with the company, upper management was great and they actually cared. However, over time as upper management restructured, the core values have changed and so did the treatment towards their employees.

Cons

One of the lowest paying companies in the industry compared to the competitors. There is a huge disconnect between Northern California and the corporate office in Southern California. It felt like we were the ugly step child always left behind. Lack of resources and outdated technology, which is sad since we live in the Silicon Valley.
