Sr. Management is disconnected from reality, doesn’t listen and doesn’t seem to care about the well being of their staff. My manager has continually said inappropriate things to me. Yet they keep promoting him/her.
HR and staff told me one thing before my start. Then they changed so many things to my disadvantage after my start — important things. My morale went way down after that, especially after my boss said I “was not their first choice,” “there’s always someone who scores the lowest on a curve,” (predictive programming?), didn’t seem to believe me when I told him/her I had a death in my family and didn’t say anything about it. So it felt like s/he wanted me to work through it when I was emotionally exhausted. Also several staff members are extremely unprofessional, petty and just plain rude.
They are very short staffed in certain areas. But, instead of just fixing it and hiring qualified staff, they try to stall with customers and make certain staff in more customer-facing roles take the brunt of the heat for long delays. The HQ in Netherlands also is out of touch with the operations in Americas, especially when it comes to certain software tools, traveling, bonus structure, etc etc.
It’s a very difficult company to work for especially if you’re not provided with a good manager who supports you, encourages you and doesn’t slander his/her team members.
