      Lyondell and Basell were great companies to work for. LyondellBasell keptthe worst of the 2 constituent companies

      Pros

      Compensation package is aligned to the industry standards. Still a lot of great people are working in the company even if they are leaving at a high pace.

      Cons

      Company does not care about the employees. Most of Senior managers are only interested in their short-term incentives/bonuses.

      Pros

      Had I been asked this question 2000 - 2010, I would say the people...Even up to 2009 - leadership had not gotten to be so goofy. The Basell buy of Lyondell (2007) was a bit stressful but "doable" as both companies had amazing folks coming together to collaborate on best practices. Alot of lasting friendships and great things, believe it or not, came from that "merger".

      Cons

      Procurement Leadership = Dictatorship "Management by embarrassment" is self proclaimed by one Extremely high turnover with slow/no backfill = frustration and stress Unethical, unprofessional, and not a trustworthy group of managers (x4) heading the team into the ground. (ex. 30% reduction of group since 2009, mostly by choice)

      Pros

      Good 401k retirement plan The workers at the plant level are good people to work with Bonus is good, but should be better based upon the performance achieved this past year.

      Cons

      Micromanagement by leadership has to stop The pay must be better to get and keep good people Are in process of disbanding central engineering group. Very, very big mistake Too much work with too few people. Makes you not want to take vacation (even though you need it) because you have to work harder when you get back to catch up because no one else is there to fill in for you. Not enough good training available to help advance career Morale is at an all time low, even though it should be at an all time high.
