Very interesting place to work

Pros

I think the work climate is great, and the people are wonderful. There aren't any roadblocks in career development and a lot of support if you want to advance. Contrary to some posts, the work hours aren't that terrible at all. If you want to work a 35 hour week, join HP or IBM. The fact that direction gets adjusted from time to time only shows that you're working for a still relatively small startup. It's better to change direction than to go under!

Cons

Too much stuff to do with too few people. This leads to the frequent adjustments.

Big Vision to Lead Transition to Light Field Video / Imaging

Pros

The company is an exciting place to work in that it is charting out new territory in the world of imaging and video. What Lytro is working on for VR and cinema is very cool/compelling. Eng team is very focused and heads-down to pull things off. Jason is great leader - strong understanding of tech and business issues and inspiring motivator. He has been around the block a few times and it shows in his creativity and composure. Talented engineering team, and good collaboration among execs and working teams. Good working environment.

Cons

The tech is powerful, but challenging to work with. Lytro understands it better than any other company and is making great progress, but you need to be comfortable with a place where it's not simply an execution play on business side.
