Pros
Mid sized Oil company, easy to be recognised for contribution, not just a number. Good company values handed down from the Maersk family. Treat staff well, doing their best at a time of low oil price, treating people with respect even those who have been laid off. Honest about their strategy for US. Salaries above average (but no shares or long term bonuses), benefits good, medical and 401K, free (but taxed) lunches. Open communication. U.S. dont do Maersk psychometric tests, so no worries there. Good opportunities for roles elsewhere in Maersk if you are a high performer. Business been around for a long time, stable and conservative. HR policies good.
Cons
Overly consensus driven, everything has to be agreed and approved by everyone which slows down decisions. A lot of mundane decisions have to be escalated to exec team in Copenhagen. Cautious about future in U.S. - very conservative. Can oversell opportunities for advancement, it's a small company and you are not going to end up as Chief exec in a few years.
