Cons
Bonus scheme is non-transparent and subject to management discretion. The relatively high fixed wage encouraged deadwood to hang around, and the low bonus does not help to retain high performers. Ideal for men/women with families who are happy with fixed salary and willing to forgo their million dollar bonuses. The pay and bonus may be a function of your nationality. Ceteris paribus (if performance is equal), a Vietnam / Indian passport holder may be paid a much lower wage and bonus than if you are Canadian/ British passport holder. Please note this may be independent of ethnicities. If you apply and work as a national of a rich/developed country (after you changed your passport from a developing country), your pay may be different. Conflict of interest in China-based offices. Staff that are paid by client company have access to internal information flow, which may contain sensitive information from competitors. Management pussy-footed on this matter.
