See advice for mgmt: One moment, you’re working hard to meet deadlines, and the next, you’re told your time is up, with barely any acknowledgment or consideration. I just got laid off with less than two weeks of severance, which doesn't even last through the end of the month. Honestly, it feels incredibly disrespectful. I understand that severance is technically a courtesy and not a legal obligation, in most cases, but it’s hard not to feel undervalued when the company you worked for years for doesn’t offer any support, especially during a tough transition. One moment, I was working on a deadline, the next, I was cut, no real explanation, no time to think, as right after the quick 5-minute meeting, they cut off your access - to everything. You cannot access your email, your benefits page, any HR system, your retirement accounts, or your PTO balance; you can't verify or access anything you may need going forward. They cut you and lock you out so quickly that you don't have time to think or ask the right questions. I've never felt so devalued. It was incredibly callous and off-putting. My manager didn't reach out to offer any sort of explanation or even a goodbye. It was as if they just casually threw me off a cliff and erased me as fast as possible. I am still in shock and will never work for this company again.
What stings the most is how impersonal the whole process felt. It makes you wonder how much ManTech values their employees beyond the numbers on a spreadsheet.
