Pros

Good pay and benefits. A lot of room for advancement. Seemingly family friendly for such a large company. I enjoyed my time here.

Cons

Large company-constantly changing hierarchy. Contract based, which can lead to lay offs. Management is over tasked at times, leading to a lack of training/development for the employees.

Pros

I worked at ManTech for about 8 years and was lucky to have found three separate VPs and program managers who supported my professional progression (not promoted but I was happy with my role). This is my 4th employer of over 10,000 employees and what I have learned is that reviews from employees are only as good as the individual that they report to. Making employment decisions based on positive reviews may not get you to the place where employees are supported. Few large companies have a culture so strong that it permeates every part of the organization. It becomes a bit of a guessing game in these big companies. Sometimes you just need to roll the dice providing that the interview and discussions with the person you report to are positive. When my contract ended my leadership took good care of me as I continued my search for employment inside and outside the company.

Cons

Since ManTech acquired my small company they have slowly chiseled away at what was probably the best benefit package in the industry. Leave and general benefits are along industry standards but that is poor compared to what I enjoyed working for the government. Expect little leave, expensive health plans with high deductibles, copays and co-insurance payments. There is not much camaraderie or corporate culture that was so strong that it made itself noticeable working 100% at a government location. Never met the president, never actually ever saw him since there were few, if any, company sponsored events for employees. The federal government/contractor market (for all companies) is changing and salaries for contractors are heading downward.
