Pros
I love having the personal connection with residents and their families - we are valued because we are the ones struggling with their parent/spouse/grandparent. I work pm and love the little perks of pm shift: free food, 1-2 hours of free time, can play with the residents on personal level. When residents come back into themselves.
Cons
Employees could be a nightmare. Hate it when some family come and watch how you care for their "loved one" and judge when they're not there to see how their loved one deteriorates because of their ?!$&!? choice to put them on hospice. Hate the management: want to keep all residents because of $$ that they get not us. Coming to work everyday because of $ that I need and to do my job not to deal with the garbage people have to say.
