Stable Employment. I have been in this location for over 15 years. Although not all was Fort Dearborn owned, I have watched this location grow from 1 press in half of a building to 7 presses now covering two buildings. In fifteen plus years there has never been a layoff and overtime is there as much as you can handle if desired.

Cons

People who post bad reviews because they weren’t able to obide by rules and make everything someone else’s fault because they are no longer employed. Our stronger employees have been in the facility seven plus years. Don’t let someone’s negativity outweigh what we truly do.

Co workers were great to work with. We worked together a long time. Very professional team and a family. We picked up each others strengths to get the job done.

Cons

We were bought by Fort Dearborn. After a nice company pitch and welcoming to Fort Dearborn, two months later we were told that our plant was closing. Old equipment, logistics etc. Told during the month of December around Christmas. It is a shame that many years of experienced employees knowledge were let go. Dissatisfied only because a great group of people no longer have jobs.

Thank you and all of the rest of the team in Harahan for your work over the last year and a half. Fort Dearborn is happy to have been able to continue to operate this facility after the acquisition given the state of the previous company and we are similarly pleased that many associates from Harahan relocated to other areas to continue to work in Fort Dearborn. The company does not take lightly the impact of this location closure and have also worked with the new tenant to secure interviews for any associate who may be interested in continuing to work for the new employer in our previous building.
