      Pros

      Great state benefits, tuition assistance, and cutting edge technology/treatment. I've been lucky with my current department. The faculty are understanding and supportive in my goals to go back to school. They are also appreciative of the work I do.

      Cons

      Some senior management people tend to play favorites. Salary could be a little better compared to other institutions.

      You get to help those in need.

      Cons

      The work you do, if outstanding, will not be noticed or taken by management as they did it. Most people that don't do anything get the best reviews and those that bust their butts get written up.

      Pros

      State benefits are good, teachers retirement, wonderful patients and the best cancer tx anywhere. Reseach is impressive and groundbreaking.

      Cons

      Low morale and finger pointing has replaced core values caring, integrity in past few years. Very political. Be careful if you cross the wrong person. People here have long memories and hold bitter grudges. Some senior managers have a different agenda and it is all about what you do that makes them look good. Credit often goes to those who take credit for it and actually did nothing to deserve it. Blaming is often the name of the game. It is a shame.
