Pros

The job is nice IF you’re liked by your managers. Everything is run on a very social basis, nothing is by merit.

Cons

The pay is so behind all credit unions and banks. Corporate will do anything to protect their image but they don’t care about you. Just money. Technology is eons behind and the old guys sitting at the top hate change. You will work terrible hours and if you complain, they get worse. Vacations denied because of a Friday being included. Short staffed 24/7. Will cut you out and put you on the streets on a whim to save money.

Pros

Lots of giveaways and attempts to make a boring job a little less tedious. Regular efforts to make everyone feel they are part of a team. Corporate interacts regularly with all people in the company right on down to the teller line. A fun "Ebay" style internal sales platform available for employees to sell informally to one another.

Cons

This is essentially a sales position on top of normal teller duties. Don't apply if you aren't comfortable pushing checking accounts and other add-on services. Training is an ineffective mess. Have a question? Don't ask anyone, read the operations manual. Conflict between what is described in the operations manual and what is actually expected? Tough, and it's your fault if you don't get it right. Peak time employees have terrible schedules, changing from day to day and week to week and making it impossible to work there if you are a single parent or have other scheduling conflicts. MidFlorida is all about extroverts. If you're not one, you better pretend to be one so well they won't know the difference.

Pros

This company really cares about it's employees, I'm constantly amazed by the level of dedication the higher ups have towards us.

Cons

It would be great if they didn't push us so hard to sell products - especially with that new law in effect where we can't call anyone. That is really going to hurt our sales goals and I hope it doesn't hurt us too much.
