Pros

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a great place to work on first-class technology. The work is generally quite good and most of the staff are very competent.

Cons

There is a sense that the Laboratory is not the place it once was. The accomplishments of today pale in comparison to past glory. In addition, there are a few members of senior management that absolutely baffle the mind.

Pros

Retirement benefits. For every dollar you put in, MIT puts in $2.

Cons

Absolutely no personnel management experience within the leadership.

Pros

I spent 2 years as a graduate research assistant at MIT. The work is cutting edge and there are really smart people everywhere. The facilities are typically good and funding is good.

Cons

There is always LOTS of work to do. For me, there was very little guidance from my advisor/boss so it was a bit difficult at times to figure out what the top research priorities were.
