      You'll encounter endless bright minds that will make MIT one of the more interesting places to work at. Benefits are pretty good too.

      Cons

      The workplace culture will vary depending on your department. As departments sometime operate as if they're mini companies within the larger company. Once here though, it isn't that hard to adjust.

      Excellent environment, top-tier research, very good benefits. Beautiful city to live in, lots to do, excellent public transportation.

      Cons

      Expensive place to live; rents are high if you want to live close to campus.

      Pros

      Very stimulating intellectual environment. Access to the faculty is great and there are many opportunities for exciting research across all disciplines.

      Cons

      The work schedule can be grueling. The graduate student stipend is pretty minimal and you won't be saving any money if you live in Cambridge.
