Pros

- Funding, especially for a masters program - Great location - Huge resources in terms of networking and money, you will be working with smart people that will be ending up in amazing positions across all disciplines, and MIT will pay for you to do most things if you learn how to use the system - I've found many people that break the stereotype of antisocial nerds, instead you get to go have a beer with smart people who will tell you why you should care about cyber security, climate change

Cons

- Very independent working environment - Advisors are VERY different, so experience is very defined by how well you choose an advisor. Advice would be to figure out what things you need to thrive and intentionally go find that in an advisor.

Smart people, rampant absenteeism, low accountability

Pros

Use of the latest computer equipment, transportation subsidies, free use of MIT libraries, liberal leave.

Cons

Performance takes a back seat to cronyism. Staff promotions are determined by committee. Leaders consider "policy" a dirty word; employees take advantage. Some faculty are arrogant and entitled. HR is ineffective.
