Pros

Unlike anywhere else I've been a part of, MIT is truly on the cutting edge of technology and making changes to the world

Cons

Being a student at MIT is like drinking water from a fire hose, you have to learn excellent time management skills and adjust for an offset work/life balance

Pros

I can collaborate with talented faculty members and students. MIT highly encourages multi-disciplinary research, so I have lots of freedom to collaborate with people from different departments. I can also select any graduate courses I like.

Cons

The winter here is terrible! The course studying here is very tough and time-consuming. Sometimes, the homework and course projects distract PhD students from their research.

Pros

Amazing people & great benefits. I've been there for 15 years in a variety of positions, and I've love working there.

Cons

For my field, the salary isn't competitive. I'd love to stay, but I can make so much more money elsewhere. That said, the benefits are worth a lot!
