Pros

Good benefits, nice environment, very convenient. They offer 50% public transportation. There are medical facilities onsite. Interesting groups to join.

Cons

The pay is not what one would expect from an institution that has world-wide recognition. There are elements of the job that go far above and beyond what can be considered reasonable. There is a reluctance to support staff when a faculty member misbehaves.

Pros

The caliber of people are amazing.

Cons

As an academic institution, a premium is placed on novel scientific and engineering research sometimes to the detriment of other priorities.

Pros

Good benefits, decent salaries, flexible hours, casual dress, autonomy at work

Cons

Complicated promotion process, it is hard to promote outstanding employees from support staff to staff positions, it takes years sometimes. Raises are yearly and are very small. Bonuses are scarce to nonexistent.
