Pros

I worked in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Helped lead a team of annotators for computational linguistics research; every day was invigorating.

Cons

Frank Gehry owes me a new computer... (jokes)

Pros

MIT has a lot of very great people and a very lively community. Moreover, there is the infinite number of opportunities that you have access to and the things you can do with your life through those opportunities.

Cons

The school is a lot of work and you really need to learn to manage your time well. Sometimes, it is a little hard to focus with so many people around and so many activities going on. Although it is great to have so many opportunities, you also need to learn to choose.

Pros

Working with motivated people who love to collaborate. Bright people who help their peers. Flexible schedule. Lots of opportunities to develop technical skills and build a network of peers.

Cons

You are at the whim of a professor, whose power-trips go unchecked. Low salary. Some professors expect you to work hours are long, although not always the case and may depend on which professor you work with.
