Always on the cutting edge. People are excited to work here and innovation is a way of life. Great benefits.

Cons

The individual managers and departments may be problematic, and management is not always as responsive as they could be. Like all large institutions they tend to move slowly.

Benefits are superb, most colleagues are easy to work with. I was most of the time part of great teams.

Cons

It takes time to get things done. Consensus is extremely important. Sometimes processes are complex and not easy to navigate.

Pros

I love, love, love, my current department! I have been at MIT for almost 6 years and have spent the last ~5 years in this DLC. I feel valued and trusted. There is flexibility to my job that is great for work-life balance. I also love the opportunity to work on institute-wide matters not just within my own department.

Cons

My first year here was sink or swim. I am glad I finally found a department that treats their people with respect.
