Coverage is a struggle

Pros

I love some of the work I do, and I love the people I work with. I can come and go as I please, and once every few weeks I even can work from home for half a day or so.

Cons

The company hates it's employees, and there's no work. No work means no coverage, which means no hours, which means no pay. Don't get a job here right now, even a lot of great people who work here are having a hard time finding work within the company.

Pros

Hybrid work at times Work on great mission

Cons

CEO is horrible. Company cuts benefits and states it is a positive. Company calls to address concerns leave limited time at the end for questions and often do not address the main concerns of employees. Also. Employees have no means to voice concerns above their main leadership

Is MITRE in decline?

Pros

There are plenty of smart people willing to share their knowledge and expertise. A collaborative environment. A great place to learn

Cons

Often MITRE works are at a very high level of abstraction without concern for actually implementation. Manager lack people skills. Bonuses are very arbitrary and rewarded unevenly depending on the manager. People with strong technical skills that can actually build something often leave. CEO is out of touch with employees. His employee all hands meetings are not very motivational and often gets bogged down into minutia and trivial details that managers and directors should be handling. The COVID data he presents is laughably out-of-date.
