Leadership: Constant stream of bad mistakes - clue to poor management
Pros
The FFRDC model (but being eroded by “growth” imperative). There was a time I recommended the company.
Cons
Since the CEO has come to power, it’s been a circus. The reorganization YEARS LATER confuses customers, staff, and Division Managers. That one is playing out now as two different managers attempting to make conflicting decisions on a single large customer. Only the mid level project leaders are connected to the customers. Hardly a senior manager can really claim that they know their corresponding customer SES and their challenges. It’s been years since I’ve seen a Division Manager or above had any positive effect on a project. DEI concerns over having decent financial systems causing the company to suddenly have a severe cash flow problem and benefit cuts. Financial data is always lagging and angering customers. Not knowing that Labor Day could not be a floater holiday (in MA law) and retracting an announcement. RIF announced in an app. It’s one mistake after another. From CEO, to CFO, to HR, to Legal….one mistake after another.
