      Pros

      Great mission with a visionary CEO and smart management and employees. The company is evolving and transforming so for someone who is driven by impact through leading and executing change, this is a great place to work.

      Cons

      Salaries are low but competitive by non-profit measures. The benefits are incredible.

      Pros

      MITRE without a doubt is one of the best places in my career I have ever worked. The opportunities are endless. You are in Data Centers and you want to switch to Data Science? You can do that. Want to learn about how you can participate in Space research? Just reach out. Never have I been around a more collaborative, diverse, and super smart groups of people. The diversity is incredible. Older and younger, different cultural backgrounds, and a good mix of male in female from leadership on down. The benefits are best-in-class. You will not find better benefits. Work-life balance is real here. The pay, with all the competition filing into the DC area is getting much better than it was. It's definitely competitive now. If you are good at people networking, and trying new things, you will do very well at MITRE.

      Cons

      All of the pros are highly dependent on where in the company you are. If you have bad management, much of the pros will be eliminated. There are definitively large pockets where this is the case. If you are on the operations side, as opposed to the customer facing side, you could receive less pay and kudos for your hard work (though this is common at any similar organization). If you have trouble networking, or when faced with endless options you are paralyzed, you could have trouble finding work or being fulfilled. Sr. Management have made a number of questionable choices in recent history and it shows currently in the Glassdoor rating.

      Fair employment practices; Low Stress for the most part; Great Benefits. Embrace of Work/Life balance by most management. Stable employer. Important work for national benefit.

      Cons

      Highly stratified, with many layers of management. Frequently little chance for advancement, with poor guidance on promotion requirements. Not the place for fast trackers nor risk-takers.
