Pros

Work life balance, interesting work, good health insurance (but not cheap), a lot of collaborative smart people, lots of opportunities to learn from others

Cons

Benefits declining abruptly, top heavy having a lot of people questioning our spending, not a lot of funding for internal initiatives

Pros

They are really good at screwing over their employees. Benefits used to be good, but not anymore. Cutting leave for long-term employees, giving no notice before stopping leave accrual, reducing the amount of leave we can carry, changing health care and short term disability, forcing PTO use on staff. Loyalty means nothing to leadership.

Cons

Jason Providakes (CEO) has run this company into the ground. The C-suite cuts benefits while proclaiming that we've had record years in terms of productivity. Every decision seems expertly engineered to drive experienced people away. This is one of the worst managed companies I have ever been a part of. When the experienced staff leave, the quality of our work will suffer and it will become an unstoppable spiral down the toilet bowl. There is no trust between employees and senior management. Meanwhile, they gaslight and smirk during all-hands meetings. Jason, you sent me here to glassdoor to leave this review. This is for you. Must be nice to be able to give yourself a 30% raise each year. To fellow MITRE-ites: get out while you can!

Pros

Work/Life balance remains big but that's not unexpected at any company that charges the government hourly.

Cons

CEO recently announced cutting a week of time off for senior employees (+9 years). In addition they're looking for anywhere else they can cut costs. Raises have not been keeping up with inflation. Cannot recommend this company anymore.
