      Denied my vaccine exemption request and terminated nearly 100 employees 2 days before Thanksgiving 2021

      Pros

      MITRE was a great company when I started there. The retirement program was great. Interesting work if you get on the right projects. Some great people at the individual contributor level.

      Cons

      My vaccine exemption request was denied by MITRE legal team and I along with around 100 of my former colleagues at MITRE were terminated on November 23rd, 2021. 2 days before Thanksgiving. They provided no explanation for the reason my vaccine exemption request was denied. They provided a one sentence letter saying my vaccine exemption request was denied.

      Pros

      There are still some good smart people there doing their best to work in the national interest. Work-life balance is still good.

      Cons

      Corporate leadership is turning the company into a progressive think-tank working for a safe world. Adherence to the corporate message has become more valued than technical skills and being an honest, apolitical technical advisor to national sponsors. Have implemented a hard-core COVID vaccination mandate with extremely limited exemptions being granted. Protected class membership has become more important for advancement than skills and abilities.
