Pros

Work life balance. Beautiful campus. Some high quality coworkers both as professionals and as human beings.

Cons

Shamelessly ideological and hypocritic top leaders including the CEO have turned the company from a respectable and non-ideological entity into a posturing butt of jokes.

Pros

MITRE's mission is by far one of the best reasons to work here - working in the public interest. This mission results in some really unique, innovative, and exciting projects. The people have also historically been great and benefits were exceptional at one time. There was also previously a great culture, though that changed with the hiring of Kathleen Federico, who immediately claimed "we have such a great culture" during her first weeks in the job and has continued to erode at it ever since.

Cons

Jason Providakes as CEO, along with the entire Executive Leadership Team (ELT) have continuously eroded corporate benefits, decimated morale through poorly thought out strategies and frank disregard for employees in multiple communication forms. These cuts are not always communicated, but are frequently felt and later identified by employees (eg. unannounced health care changes for 2023 which greatly increased prescription costs). The ELT also continues to erode trust by making significant cuts and later having to partially walk some back due to a lack of research and a later realization that the benefits cuts would put MITRE in a precarious legal situation with state law. Additionally, part of the benefits cuts we are seeing includes cutting either Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth (added 2022), or Veteran's Day as an observed holiday depending on which holidays you choose elect to take off as a "flex holiday" meaning that the ELT truthfully doesn't care about inclusion and diversity, and that it's merely a show.
