      Pros

      The benefits are good, but don't even come close to balancing out the lack of pay, chance for promotions, or growth in any aspect. I'm actively looking to leave do the recent management shifts or constant broken promises by managers.

      Cons

      Employees are well underpaid by industry standards. Only seeks to promote wealthy, older, white, typically male, employees. Has no desire to promote from within departments. Cannibalizes teams to reduce the staff that actually does the work so middle managers can get raises.

      We're sorry to hear that you're so unhappy. We have a strong commitment to diversity, demonstrated by our CEO recently joining local and national efforts to address issues such as inclusion and pay equity in the workplace. We haven't seen any indication that particular groups of staff members aren't being promoted.

      Good Company from which to be an Independant Consultant

      Pros

      Nice EA Package. Solid benefits package. Good work - life balance. Nice body shop for Engineers.

      Cons

      Increasingly PC. Bureaucratic culture. Not meritorious. Core competencies not fostered and developed. Senior level management does not provide strategic leaderships, just stirs the pot. The MITRE Way has added another layer of bureaucracy with no apparent benefits to the company.

      MITRE was once a great place but not any more

      Pros

      They really do have a great cafeteria. There is a lot for parking your car. The bathrooms are cleaned twice a day.

      Cons

      MITRE tries to maintain the illusion that they are more than an everyday government support contractor. They are resting on their laurels from past years. The work they do is simply the work they are told to do by the government sponsor. They will do as they are tasked because that is how they can stay in business. They are no less immune to funding cuts than any of the other Lockheeds, Grummans, etc. The chances for advancement are nil unless you are in the right clique.
