Pros
When I first signed on with MITRE, about ten years ago, I was walking with giants. Many of the people I was with were significantly smarter and more high-speed than prior organizations. MITRE gave me a venue to serve our country in a variety of deeply technical roles, that made a difference in our real-world capabilities. My work had visible and tangible impact.
Cons
MITRE has become a political machine. They are woke, and senior leadership has overcome the balance and neutrality of prior years to make sure that they have no impediments to their agenda. MITRE is agressively pro-vax. No exceptions, no remote options, no testing, and only enough REs to give plausible deniability. If you like mandates, maybe this is a pro -- your call. MITRE technical talent isn't what it used to be. One of the best engineers I know, is distraught because none of his leadership can even understand his work. Meanwhile, MITRE is stacking the company with less-experienced ( but ohterwised great ) people, hoping that nobody notices the franchise players are gone. Finally, they don't even focus on technical engineering anymore. It's all green power, social justice, vaccine passports, and the global agenda. Maybe this is a pro for you, but it's not 'balanced' at all.
