      Good local management, out of touch executives

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity for lateral movement. Good, respectable people. Decent hybrid working, but that seems to be going away. Valuable work.

      Cons

      Inability for many workers to find projects to work on. Worsening benefits. Every time the CEO speaks he says something out of touch or hurtful. Most recently, he mandated away the need to wear a security badge for himself. He also made a recommendation to verify security clearances verbally, which is against our training, and I believe would be illegal.

      Pros

      Good benefits (albeit shrinking), well-known by sponsors for past work, very smart, expert employees (although many are leaving), some work/life balance

      Cons

      Benefits shrinking, stagnant pay increases, Complacent, semi-retired top-level staff, people become "expert" in their field, retire to MITRE and let mid-level employees do all the actual work, very little time or resources dedicated to group leads to manage or employees to develop themselves (other than the 28k for grad degrees)

      Intelligent, dedicated colleagues Strong mission of public service Expanding into new important areas like climate change Opportunity to work across multiple areas

      Cons

      Bloated with VPs and officers who aren't accountable Raises don't even keep up with inflation Additional vacation days earned by working over 9 years was just rescinded Disruptive reorganizations without compelling improvements
