MITRE reviews

A phenomenal amount of nepotism. Husbands wives daughters cousins babysitters you name it they're related to somebody who works at Mitre, including the CEO whose brother also works there. I can name at least six close colleagues who have a spouse or child working there. It makes for treacherous dynamics.

Often MITRE works are at a very high level of abstraction without concern for actually implementation. Manager lack people skills. Bonuses are very arbitrary and rewarded unevenly depending on the manager. People with strong technical skills that can actually build something often leave. CEO is out of touch with employees. His employee all hands meetings are not very motivational and often gets bogged down into minutia and trivial details that managers and directors should be handling. The COVID data he presents is laughably out-of-date.
