The semi market they serve is very cyclic and the company often needs to hire and fire en masse. My salary was good but in so many other ways they are super cheap. Even in good years the business has mandatory shutdowns several times per year.

-While technical knowledge is great, the senior management lacks business background and education. So there is a lack of vision, strategic planning or communication. Once consultant was hired to develop strategic plan and all we saw was a couple of slides followed by crickets... -Some of the senior/executive management has some serious psychological problems and egos to fill out a large room. Some of the management came over from Brooks Automation, need I say more? -Management is micromanaging and has lack of trust towards employees (some departments are better than others) -HR cant get employees to complete surveys, because employees are afraid of retaliation if they ever said anything critical. -Most of the product volume is manufactured in Mexico - that means double management structures and ever present turf wars. Labor content is low so I am not sure how that makes financial sense. -"Not invented here" syndrome is strong with this one...
