Pros

In retrospect, none. Initially, it seemed like a fairly laid-back place to work, but before long it became apparent that the pay and benefits were woefully insufficient to counter the outrageous stress of working here

Cons

Gross mismanagement. Entirely incompetent development. The software is trash tier, it hasn't had a major overhaul since it was conceived 15 years ago, and instead of refactoring the basic functionality to make it more stable and reliable, they've just been tacking new features on year after year leading to outrageous bloat and an insanely unstable product. Updates are slow and generally make the product worse. Data loss was a daily occurrence, I honestly could not believe that we had any clients remaining because every single day I had a client whose system was completely inoperable and at risk of complete data loss. Clients would regularly lose access to their systems for up to a week at a time while we desperately tried to solve problems caused by sloppy development. The previous ownership (Cline and Hollis) were penny pinching con men who promised the world to their clients and did nothing but under deliver. Pay was trash compared to other jobs in the industry. Benefits were okay but got cut year after year. The transition to work from home was completely mismanaged--from March 31st when I moved home, I did not even get a hello from my direct manager until May. No team building, no meetings, just a support queue that grew by the dozens each day due to the broken software, and no support from anyone in the company to help with that load. Then in October 2020, they laid off 80% of the company. Clients are waiting up to a week for tech support, literally the entire software development team was fired. There are no bug fixes coming, and the outstanding support ticket queue is in the hundreds and climbing. Now they're hiring people for Tier I and Tier II, three months after having laid off all of their Tier Is and Tier IIs, but for less pay. Don't fall for it. The new ownership, ValSoft, is even more ruthless. Avoid at all costs. Nearly any customer service job will treat you better.

Pros

People were great to work with. Management was friendly at times.

Cons

Not enough people to handle the development workload. No room for growth of skill sets. There was a "Stay in your lane" kind of mentality. Wages not matching comparing companies around the area.
