      Pros

      Good perks from company 20% employee discount, but must use Macys card, and store prices aren't that competitive even with the discount.

      Cons

      Inflexible schedule with lack of fairness between associates in same dept. Scheduling is done remotely via computer, and sales managers are very unwilling to alter it. Over or underscheduling of part time associates depending on business needs, not human needs. Lack of training for specific responsibilites- sink or swim additude. HUGE, blind focus on credit.

      Pros

      Decent vacation benefit. Employee discount(if you can afford to shop ay Macy's). You meet some very nice people. A good place to learn retailing. Easy way to learn a foreign language.

      Cons

      Little chance for advancement. No hope of salary increases. Some of the rudest, most immature mid-level managers you will ever meet. Toadyism at it's best. Hard work is NOT rewarded. No incentive to perform.

      Good sales experience....under holiday stress

      This was a good practice ground for me not just to make the sales but also to learn how other managers operated.

      Cons

      I got hired seasonally for the women's department. I only worked there for like a month and I had had enough. There was NO training, no communication, everyone expected you to jump when they said. It was one of the worst jobs I have ever had. There was no one manager, it changed constantly. The schedules were awful, one week you close 7 nights the next week you got 3 days on the schedule. It was not worth any amount of money, even though there was next to nothing in my paycheck. I wouldn't work for this company ever again, even if it was the last job on earth.
