      Pros

      My manager was very hands off which worked well for me. They let you do your job and work with the clients.

      Cons

      They always staffed too highly, since my job was hourly + commission the days that I could actually make enough to earn a commission there were so many other people working, that it made it extremely hard. You have to be a very competitive person, and the pay off doesn't seem quite worth it in the end. Working during the holidays is more stressful then it should be.

      Pros

      There is great advancement potential at Macy's. Through the years I've worked there I've been promoted several times. If you work hard and show consistency, you can do well.

      Cons

      Hard for work and life balance at times. A lot is expected from their employees, but they do show loyalty to their people.

      Pros

      Amazing staff and hardworking management drive morale. Need more hours? Just ask, as long as you are a consistent performer management will fight HR for you tooth and nail.

      Cons

      Older group of seasoned sales floor people. ALL department understaffed, at times leaving you juggling many plates. Changing sales daily, ok if you worked morning shift and was brief in the AM meeting, not so great if it's 4pm, the store is full and unless you still read the newspaper you will not know there's going to be a barage of coupons with restrictions to process.
