Pros

Regulars are usually pretty cool. Gratis is nice if you work for a brand. (Estee lauder companies, lancome, sheseido, ect)

Cons

Management in my store was the worst I've ever experienced. The level of ineptitude shown by upper management often made them nearly obsolete. More of a code release on legs. Most sales associates were responsible for teaching new managers what their functions were on the POS. To another point your job description means nothing. I was a beauty advisor for estee lauder. That means I was also on the visual team, the dock team, part time counter manager, hr, customer relations, mall directory, recovery, I was often made to work in shoes, women's clothing, men's clothing, all of the last acts, luggage, hand bags, and inventory which is a management activity. Expect to be working way too much for the pay. My old store has gone through 3 new department managers and 3 new counter managers for nearly each counter since my departure 9 months ago.

Pros

Great employee discount. Managment cares about employees. Flexible hours, easy to shift trade, easy to pick up more hours. Fun environment. Great incentives for opening credit accounts, which is a job expectation anyway.

Cons

Staffing is almost always a problem. Sales associates have a lot of responsibility/tasks that are nearly impossible to accomplish in given time frames based on staffing. Pay is better than it used to be but still quite low comparatively. Difficult to fire problem employees so they just keep getting scheduled causing issues store-wide. Seemingly no real consequence for calling out all the time which only makes staffing shortages worse.

Pros

Working at .com for 6 years. The only positive I can think of now is the fancy building and the ability to work remotely when needed.

Cons

Not friendly, no direction, limited growth potential, management looking for the next sacrificial lamb, you fall in two categories - pretender or worker; work life balance for pretenders awesome, not so much for the other kind. Poor pay, benefits are a joke, wrong people in leadership, etc.
